Your donation will help us improve lives
Our world-leading research is critical to finding new treatments for a range of debilitating depressive disorders
In recent years, the society has become much more aware of the need to properly address mental health issues within families and the workplace.
A greater focus on wellbeing has reduced the stigma attached to some depressive disorders in the community and led more people to seek help and openly discuss their experiences.
But it has also highlighted the scale of the problem and the urgent need for more quality research into new, more effective treatments.
The ASBDD is at the heart of academic study into bipolar and other depressive disorders, bringing researchers together to share findings and collaborate on new clinical trials.
We are the pre-eminent forum for education, advocacy and peer support, but we desperately need more donations to continue our vital work.
Currently, only 10 per cent of research proposals receive government funding, but with your help, we can make a real difference to the lives of the millions of Australasians who live with such disabling disorders. Too many never make full recoveries so the need for more research has never been greater.
Donations from members of the public are crucial to helping us better understand these illnesses and improve outcomes for those affected and their families.
